Hanging Tree Wines Dante's Fuego Jan 07

The bouquet shows interesting nuances with stalky varnished oak, earthy notes, subtle chocolate, iodine and red fruits. A medium-weight wine, this Sparking Shiraz is not as big as most on the market and has a creamy mouth feel. Also in it's favour is that whilst it has some sweetness, it is controlled and is well balanced to the bubble and acid, all contributing to its easy drinking nature, but
it does not have a lot of complexity. Flavours of red fruits, bandaids, chocolate and surprising mint on the finish; there is also a stalky metallic edge which indicates probable Brett.  Rated as Agreeable with ** for value. Available from the winery for $35 a bottle and sealed with cork.
