Fox Gordon 2006 King Louis Cabernet Sauvignon June 08 sells for $44.95 and is sealed under cork. The bouquet is dusty and shows quality cedar oak over clean fruit; it's very reticent. Unobtrusive, fine and tight powdery tannins combine with fresh acid and deeply-seated fruit to form a clean, modern and well proportioned, medium-weight wine. It's tight, elegant and solid. Like its sibling, it needs ages to open up and is not showing much except its structure. Blueberry, mocha, dried oregano, and milk chocolate flavours are off-sweet but are currently buried by the tannins. Rated as Highly Recommended with *** for value, come back for another look in five years to see how it's travelling.
