Eden Springs 2003 Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Dec 04

Youthful, tight nose showing lightly perfumed fruit, earth mushroom chocolate characters, cassis, coffee oak, a touch of spice and some mint influences; good complexity for such a young wine which bodes well for its future. The palate has rich, ripe off-sweet fruit showing blackberry, chocolate, coffee and a little mint which is well supported by smooth, chewy abundant tannins that provides a solid structure and a very firm drying finish. Ample in weight, it is a good wine but will be a significantly more enjoyable if you can keep yours hands off it long enough for the tannins to soften and integrate. Rated as Recommended with **** for value, all it needs is time.
