Downing Estate 2002 Cabernet Merlot PlonkOz04

A beautifully balanced wine; powdery tannins and pure fruit produce a medium-weight drop with supple consistency, solid structure and some class, and a harmonious complexity that should be seamless in time. Off-sweet blackcurrant, cassis, chocolate, plum, aniseed and mint complete the picture. Rated as Highly Recommended with *** for value it should peak around 2008.
