White pepper, plum, dusty, roasted, nutty oak and milk chocolate were found on
the bouquet. With enough unobtrusive tannins to hold the wine together; its
medium-weight with a soft consistency, agreeable complexity and typical of many
straight Merlot is at this price point. Plum, chocolate and coffee, the wine is
intensely savoury and finishes slightly bitter but with acceptable persistence;
unfortunately there is nothing on the back palate and it’s a little green. The
acid is noticeable and the wine needs food. Rated as Acceptable with *** for
value.
