Coriole 2001 Lloyds Reserve Shiraz Oct 04
Heavily toasted oak on the bouquet leads to a palate with
good sweet underlying fruit of plums, blackcurrant etc with enough stuffing to
soak up the toasted oak. Ample-weight, it is well made and well balanced; the
smooth drying tannins are cleverly managed and the youthful acid is up to the
deeply seated fruit. A well developed complexity, it shows some refinement and a
little elegance for McLaren Shiraz and the good news is that it should get
better with time as its still a a baby. Rated as Highly
Recommended with *** for value, the rating should go up as it matures
in 2008+.
