Cofield 2006 Sangiovese Nov 07

The RRP is $19.50 or $17.55 for circle club members; it sealed under Diam. Although they recommend the perfect temperature for this wine is 12 to 15°, I drink it at 19 and it was fine. The bouquet shows cherry, spicy oak, milk chocolate and hints of tobacco leaf. Driven by loads of fruit, the wine is backed by fine, unobtrusive, silky tannins that support a solid structure and provide a supple consistency. Sour cherry on the uptake leads to some sweetness on the mid-palate, with milk chocolate, spice, and dried herbs that finish with good length and persistence. It's medium-weight, uncomplicated, and a terrific food wine. Rated as Recommended with **** for value.
