Cofield 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Nov 07

The RRP is $19.50 or $17.55 for circle club members; it sealed under Diam. The bouquet shows a combination of sweet cassis, blackberry and subtle dried herbs. A truly varietal Cabernet that is solidly-constructed and well-backed by fine, smooth, tannins. The palate is savoury with herbs and some underlying sweetness on the finish. Flavours of black cherry, blackberry, and cigar leaf are heavily influenced by a noticeable green streak through the palate, but it is not objectionable. It's medium-weight and would be a good food wine. Rated as Recommended with **** for value, provided you don't mind the green flavours.
