A sweet fruit driven bouquet with contrasting off-sweet characters, showing earthy chocolate, blackcurrant, a little cedar and a touch of mint. The uptake is particularly sweet in nature with Ribena like characters and some off-sweet flavours of plum, chocolate and cherry add to the complexity. Powdery tannins are smooth and provide adequate support for this ample weight wine. Its easy drinking with a supple consistency that finishes reasonably dry and clean. Rated as Agreeable with *** for value at the $20 CD price, it is food friendly.
