I have tried previous vintages of this wine but have never been particularly enamoured with the charry oak. Smooth tannins and very crisp fresh acid produce an intense, lively palate which is complemented by deeply seated black fruit flavours that should eventually absorb the char. Ample-weight, the consistency is supple and the complexity agreeable but the wine needs time to come together and the acid is noticeable. Rated as Recommended with *** for value.
