Browns of Padthaway 2001 Myra
Family Reserve Cabernet PlonkOz04
An attractive bouquet is
fragrant, floral, perfumed fruit, almost like rose petals. Smooth tannins are
deceptive and provide a good backbone and the wine is well balanced with nothing
sticking out. The palate was not as expected. Layered, it is off-sweet with a
slightly sweet elements and there is little bitterness to the finish; flavours
Clara of redcurrant, chocolate and mint. Ample-weight, consistency is supple and
the complexity agreeable; it is a clean wine but better than this description.
Rated as Highly Recommended with ***
for value, it will be best consumed over the next five years.
