Closed for business and restrained by the oak, the nose showed coffee, dark fruit and some clean leafy characters. Abundant drying tannins but there is enough deeply buried fruit to counter and the resulting wine has excellent balance and a structure that has been built for the long haul. Not for the oak-a-phobic, there is also a greenbean character right through the wine. This is a baby that needs many years and is rated as Excellent with *** for value.
