The wine was matured in French oak and the toast level on the bouquet certainly leaves one in no doubt about it! An excellent balance has been achieved between the unobtrusive, smooth drying tannins, fresh acid and pure fruit which forms a clean, solid muscular wine. Intensely sweet berries, plum, meaty, and chocolate which should be able to soak up the toasted oak in time. Rated as Highly Recommended with *** for value.
