The touch of char, strawberries, and blackcurrant on the bouquet leads to a palate with no surprises; char, spice, blackcurrant, plum milk and chocolate flavours are provided by the deep fruit. A muscular wine that is well-balanced and supported by smooth tannins which provide a supple consistency, tight structure and agreeable complexity. Whilst it is a good wine that is drinking well now, it should continue to improve until it reaches its peak in about 2007 and beyond. Rated as Highly Recommended with *** for value.
