Blackets 2007 Pinot Noir Jan 09

Sealed under screwcap, the wine is $23.33 a bottle (by the dozen) from the winery. Lightly perfumed, floral nose, it’s attractive and shows red cherry, truffle and milk chocolate. Sweet cherry uptake with very sappy mid palate and spicy finish, the sweetness is off-set by the very lively, fresh acid. Supported by tight, but noticeable tannins, its medium weight with a solid structure and firm consistency; drink over the next five years. Needs food. Rated as Recommended with *** for value, its $28 a bottle or $280 a dozen direct from the winery.
