Bannockburn 2001 Stuart
Pinot Oct 04
The first release under this label, the vines were planed in
1996 in rocky, infertile rocky soil to encourage vine strength through tough
conditions. A gamey nose with some petroleum like characters leads to a palate
which is intensely off-sweet and acid that cuts a swathe through the wine. Lean
in weight with a firm consistency, it may be a good wine in the longer term (I
am no Pinot expert) but it is not for me. Rated as Agreeable.
