Bannockburn 2001 Shiraz Oct 04

A well balanced, solid wine that has been built for the long term with smooth tannins, youthful acid and persistent deep fruit. Bouquet is different with earthy funky notes, blackberries forest floor a touch of char. On the palate, it is lighter than expected with medium weight but the intensity and persistence of of the off-sweet blackberry, chocolate and truffle flavours is very good. Rated as Highly Recommended with *** for value, this is a baby that demands time and should not be even looked at till 2010+.
