Amherst 2002 Dunn's Paddock Shiraz Sept 04

This is the current release of this wine. The bouquet is similar to the 2000 but this one shows more complexity and class. Unobtrusive, very fine, drying tannins combine with rich, pure fruit to produce an ample-weight wine with firm consistency and well developed complexity. The initial sweet hit is just strong enough to knock the pqiuant acid for a loop and the coffee, plum, spice and milk chocolate finishes long. A very nice wine that needs time to shows its best, rated as Highly Recommended with *** for value, the rating should improve as the wine matures in 2008 and beyond.
