Amherst 2000 Dunn's Paddock
Shiraz
Sept 04
Five acres of vines cropped at about 1 tom per acre provided
the fruit for this wine. An interesting an unusual wine that is well made but I
am not sure it will appeal to the general public and may be a hard sell. Coffee,
pepper, chocolate and plum has enough persistence to punch through the lively
acid that is about as subtle as canine testicles. Just over medium-weight, the
consistency is firm and the structure elegant and tight. Rated as Recommended
with ** for value, there is room for improvement as the wine matures around
2007.
