TORB's Cellar

Set in a most unusual location, it is in the back of my pet store.

Why you may well ask; because I can! Having my priorities right, there is lots of room as I have moved most of the pet supply stock into the attic. It's a pre-federation building and the triple brick walls are over two feet thick; there are no windows, there is only one (very solid) door and the premises has a back to base alarm system. There is has a huge (three horse power) split system air-conditioning system just for the cellar, so with the unit just ticking over, the temperature hovers at about 15-16 degrees in summer and without the air-conditioning running in winter it's stable at about 14-15 degrees. Low humidity from the air conditioning is not a concern as there are puppies water bowls, wet towels etc that keeps the humidity at a reasonable level.

The large styro boxes hold two dozen bottles each. The only problem is getting wine out as so much of it is stacked high, or on high shelves; the base of some of them are nine foot off the ground; the joys of having 2 meter high ceilings.

................................ Plenty to nibble on: as long as you like dog food!

.....................................Air conditioner top left

Pull the cord for the attic stairs!

Just because there is a box of kitty litter trays does not mean there is any NZ sauvignon Blanc in the cellar

................... ........... The door to the inner sanctum .............................. ........... which contains 500 bottles of "good stuff"

And then at home I normally keep about 100-150 bottles
